Pages from a blank mind
A collection of chapters taken from books that once belonged to my grandfather's library. Each chapter has been modified into a visual interpretation of a symptom presented by my grandfather during his 10 year dementia battle. The book is divided into three main chapters:
Mild, Moderate and Severe, which represent the stages of the illness, respectively. Additionally, each chapter is then divided into sub-chapters that represent the symptoms within each stage.
Having my grandfather suffering from dementia for ten years made me reflect on the importance of loss memory. But also it made me understand that this symptom was not the only one, and that the dementia patient was not the only one affected by it. The ugly truth is that memory loss is one of the milder symptoms of this disease, and part of the harsh reality of this is that the patients are the last ones to find out what is really going on; while people around them are impacted by it.
